In the beginning, I figured I didn’t grasp teacher’s purpose of finding a famous architect. I just simply searched for some people of history and outstanding accomplishment, and then sent to teacher. but teacher didn’t agree on what I found, and let me do some research on Paul Gauguin. I found a lot of information on Paul Gauguin, an impressionist, applying himself to drawing and carving. I thought I didn’t comprehend him exactly, and only thought his works related to religion and he longed for original freedom. Because of my poor English, I had a lot of trouble in understanding him. So my speech board was based on materials from internet, lack of my own understanding. I chose Steve Leung.He won a lot of prizes including more than 40 internal prizes and Andrew Martin International, highest award in design circles. COOL Rigidity LEISURE CLEAN YI INEBRIATION WIDTH. And then, I started study his works knowing his work which showed seven moods cool rigidity leisure clean yi INEBRIATION and width.
And I also concluded that his works showed the characters of nobility and freedom and gave a feeling of home. I thought I comprehended this designer and translated all the materials about him in to English (OMG this is a crazy work) with my own understanding. I made four speech boards whose backgrounds were extracted from furniture series named Qingyi designed by him, along with furniture ornaments.( I spent my whole Christmas holiday doing this)

I showed teacher my moodbox. After consultation, teacher felt the two moodbox I made were both Mondrian’s sketch and had nothing to do with Steve. Although they were both minimalists, they have nothing to do with each other. so teacher suggested me switching to another designer, Mondrian
